Semper Fi

Over the weekend both in my own country (England) and the US there have been days of remembrance for the men and woman who take it upon them self’s and join the Armed Forces putting there lives on the line so we don’t have to.

Even now as you read this there are people being shot at or even killed for what they believe in, and how do we repay their sacrifice by holding Two Minute Silences which have been observed since the end of the First World War, but their relevance remains undiminished. When we bow our heads in reflection, we remember those who fought for our freedom during the two World Wars. But we also mourn and honour those who have lost their lives in more recent conflicts

And that’s what many people don’t understand the wars of today aren’t the same was the once were the enemy (if there is at all) is not over the cress of the next hill or round the next corner,
The enemy of today is fear, fear from not understanding our fellow man or another religion other than your own, we take the essays way out to find the answers we turn to the media or ever worse some one or something we don’t understand, and when it turns out that who its was wrong we turn on them to

A few hours ago I watched Army Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta be given a the Medal of Honour from President Barack Obama and want did some of his fellow country men do and are doing bitch about the government. Sham on you all

As for my country man, we fair no better there is a young lad called Matthew Brown (coastaltrek) his aim to walk the entire coastline of GB and Ireland approx. 11000 miles. Some have been calling him a fraud and even questioning his motives So sham on to all to

We can all help in our small way by following Matt on twitter he gets £1 for every follower so join him or give want ever you can to the following

The people in all our Armed Forces and who support them believe in something more that just heat magazine or the other bullshit that the media feed us in the hope that they can make money from us

I may have use this poem before but I don’t care

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
