The following blog contains spoilers for the Richard Castle book Heat Wave is this your one and only warning, leave now if you do not want this book to be spoilt

A New York real estate tycoon plunges to his death on a Manhattan sidewalk. A trophy wife with a past survives a narrow escape from a brazen attack. Mobsters and moguls with no shortage of a reason to kill trot out there alibis. and then, in the stifling grip of a record heatwave comes another shocking murder a sharp turn in the tents journey into dirty little secrets at the wealthy, Secrets that prove to be fatal secrets that lay hidden in the dark until one NYPD detective shines a light.

Homicide Detective Nikki Heat.

Previously in Heat Wave – Heat, Rook, Ochoa and Raley team up with Marr and his team to arrest the people who have taken Matthew Starr pictures. The rade is successful but when the group check the van all the pictures have already gone.

And Now the continuation.

Thirteen – Inside the interrogation room Heat is with the biker who’s name is Brian Daniels nicknamed Doc, doesn’t care very much for Heat and her questions which ignores, so she just leaves him there and with his little running act he could end up in sing sing for all time.

Rook is sitting a Heat’s desk and is just unhappy, He had ride back to the station in a black and white. Heat did it for protection from her mostly but really because he could have been shot. Just then Ochoa comes in giving her the alibis for both Kimberly and Noah which are watertight. Under his breath Ochoa tells Rook he’s kind of cool for flooring Daniels just as Heat’s phone rings with Raley on the other end.

He has with him, Henry the doorman from Starr building and they have set a lineup for him to take a look at but he identifies one of the cops in the line and not Daniels who’s in the lineup.

Back in the bull pen the detectives are passing a small ball around trying to think of their next move, they will have to let Daniels go but Heat wants to apply a little bit of pressure before they do. As she says this Heat passes the ball to Rook who fails to catch it and it hits him the face.

Heat has the other doorman of the Guilford in the interrogation room now Gerald Buckley, who after Heat asks first about the blackout and second why he didn’t call in for his shift calls for his lawyer. But Heat has a plan B, outside Ochoa and Raley positioned Daniels were he can see the interrogation room but the people leaving can’t see him. Heat and Buckley walk out together and she thanks him for the help and for doing the right thing. Buckley leaves in a hurry and then gets Daniels back inside.

Daniels now says that Buckley is a lying and he’s not any friend of his sure yes they broke into the apartment but when they did the pictures were already gone and that’s the Gods honest truth. Outside Raley believes him so does Heat even if old man Henry was out with his times there is no way they moved all the pictures without being seen, Rook thinks Penn and Teller did it but Heat has other ideas licence plate number of the Volvo And after Ochoa has made a few calls they found out belongs to Barbara Deerfield who has been missing from her work of four days no employer turns out to be Sotheby’s auction house and she’s employed as an appraiser.

What I Think – after the flash bang of the previous raid and arrests,.we have what is called the slow burn. We have first a suspect who is is not going to say one word without a a lawyer present or even acknowledge he’s in any serious danger. So Heat uses her head like all good police do. She plays one against the other gets the results I also like the fact that we still have people coming with information it’s not all still a straight line that are bends in it for example the old man who works at the Guildford didn’t see anybody and in fact helps establish that it was inside job without giving the game away.

It’s also stopped being Heat and Rook show it has become a foursome Ochoa, Raley, Rook and Heat I’m guessing that have Mr Richard Castle relationship with the NYPD 12th Precinct really was, and whatever case this has been based on must have been rather intense to formed such an integral Bond quite this quickly.

Now we have miss Jane Doe established Barbara deerfield art appraisal how she fits in with Kimberly Starr and Noah Paxton is yet to be seen is she in fact to do with the two gentleman who were assaulted Mr Starr for unpaid debt money.

So that’s your lot for is week as always thank you for reading and I hope you can join me for the next chapter of Heat Wave but until then whoever you are and whether you be bye for now and see you next week.
